Clevedon Town SBW Ladies Football Club has become the
first female football club to be awarded the FA Charter Standard
Club award in Somerset.
The club is part of Clevedon Town FC, who were recently awarded
FA Community Club status, the
pinnacle of awards in the Charter Standard programme. However,
the Ladies club have achieved their award entirely on their
own merits, and now offer unprecedented regional football
opportunities for girls and women of all ages.
The award was presented at the Hand Stadium in June by Francis
Hillier, President of the Somerset FA.
