Floodlit Astroturf Pitch

The Hand Stadium has a floodlit, all-weather Astroturf pitch which is used extensively by a wide variety of football and hockey clubs, together with local schools and colleges.

The pitch can be hired in it's entirety, or in half sections - ideal for 5-a-side/6-a-side football and hockey training. It is available for hire seven days a week, from 9am through to 10pm, and discounts are available for block bookings.

Major Refurbishment - October 2011

We are delighted to report that the first stages of the Astroturf pitch refurbishment is due to be completed on 31st October 2011.  This includes;

• The remarking of the field of play into three six aside pitches.
• New goals and nets.
• Dividing nets to separate each 6 aside pitch.
• High Line nets to prevent the ball from leaving the enclosed field of play
• The renovating the existing surface
• Upgrade of the changing rooms
• Repairing the surrounding fence
